Bulk Billing
1. Billing Policy
At the Townsville GP Superclinic, we are proud to offer bulk billing for the majority of our services, ensuring accessible healthcare for our community. However, there are some instances where fees may apply. These include:
Telehealth Consultations: Telehealth services will incur a fee for all patients but if you have a current Medicare card and meet the Medicare eligibility criteria you will receive a rebate fee back into your nominated bank account (must be registered with Medicare).
Walk-in Patients Without Appointments: We prioritize booked appointments, but walk-in patients without a scheduled appointment may be charged a consultation fee. Those patients with a Centrelink concession card or are aged under 16 years old will be bulk billed. For those patients that do not meet the practice criteria will be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Non-Medicare Card Holders: Patients who do not have a valid Medicare card will be required to pay for their consultation or services. We do accept Bupa and Allianz overseas visitors and students and charge only a gap fee for our service for these policy holders.
Administrative Paperwork: Fees apply for the completion of any forms or paperwork, excluding Centrelink documentation, which we process without charge.
Workcover: Patients with workplace injuries who wish to claim Workcover are liable for private fees. The Workcover insurer may be billed directly if there is a valid claim number and confirmation the claim is approved.
Work related appointments: Any appointment which is work related is not covered by Medicare and a private fee will be payable. This can include but is not limited to clearances to return, pathology for immunization status, employment medicals, suitable duties and paperwork completion.
We are committed to providing the highest level of care. We are also committed to maximizing your access to healthcare, which includes making our service cost-effective from your point of view.
We are a cashless service and only accept EFTPOS, Visa, or MasterCard when payment is required. A small surcharge for credit cards applies..
